Iraqi forces repel ISIS attack on Samarra, kill, wound 50 militants

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that the Iraqi security forces have repelled a violent attack by the ISIS group militants in southwest of Samarra.
The source stated to IraqiNews in an interview, “Security forces backed by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi troops and the Iraqi Air Force fighters have managed to repel an attack by the ISIS group on the headquarters of the security forces in the area of Watban in southwest of Samarra district, located 40 km south of Tikrit.”
“The violent clashes between the two sides resulted in killing and injuring more than 50 ISIS elements, in addition to destroying 6 armored vehicles that belonged to the group,” the source added.
